Both an art gallery, and a collector's club, Le Polyptyque (The Polyptych) was founded in 2009 with one belief : there is more than contemporary art. It talks to us about the world that surrounds us and the world to come, in good and bad ways, but its ubiquity should not let us forget about the infinite richness of emotions and of thoughts found in the arts of previous centuries. Contemporary art is a speculative market – in both the good and less good sense of the word – while the aesthetic and intellectual pleasure provided by ancient and modern art is of a different nature, more lasting.
Le Polyptyque has thus given itself the purpose of constituting and offering to its clients and friends, an exceptionnal collection by the interest and the quality of the artworks. They can therefore build up a collection for themselves which, over time, establishes its coherence and value.
It is led by two art enthusiasts. Francis has been wandering the art world for half a century, with the same fascinated teenager's perspective, making no concessions to trends. François brings his knowledge of art currents and of the links between art and culture, based on an overgrown library. They are assisted by Rémi, art historian. Each year, we look at thousands of artworks, discuss hundreds of them, to select only a few and offer them to you at a fair price.
We have chosen not to specialize, precisely in order to be as selective as possible, and to be able to focus on the inherent quality of each of the artworks. It is a pleasure to present them to you, on this website or during a meeting, and to share with you, in a time where culture and leisure have too little place, the taste for art and collecting.
